PixelChallenge (pixelartchallenge.net) is a pixel art recreation game. Players recreate reference pixel arts and compete for accuracy scores.

2. What Data We Collect
If you register an account:
- Username
- Email address
- Password (hashed — we never store plaintext)
- Profile avatar (pixel art you choose from your uploads)
If you play as a guest (no account):
- Anonymous session ID (stored in a cookie, no personal info)
- Your submitted pixel art drawings and accuracy scores
Automatically collected:
- IP address (used for rate limiting, not stored long-term)
- Standard server access logs (request path, timestamp)
3. How We Use Your Data
- Run the game — save your drawings, calculate scores, show leaderboards
- Associate your pixel art uploads with your account
- Authenticate you when you log in
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
- Cloudflare R2 — image storage for pixel art thumbnails and avatars
- Hosting provider — server infrastructure
Both are infrastructure providers, not data brokers. Your data is not used by them for their own purposes.
5. Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: kept until you delete your account
- Guest session data: drawings and scores kept indefinitely for leaderboard integrity; session cookie expires after 2 hours of inactivity
- Server logs: automatically purged after 30 days
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your account and all associated data by emailing us
- Request a copy of your data
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data

8. Children
PixelChallenge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
